1985
Roberts Roofing was founded in 1985 by Steve Roberts. His decision to start the company was based on the need for a full service roofing contractor in St. Joseph Missouri. Starting the business in his garage at home with one truck and another employee, Steve’s business quickly earned a reputation among construction contractors as a quality roofing company.
As word spread, there was substantial growth in the residential roofing sector, and as a result the business was established and growing.
1987
Growth was slow and steady, and in just two years Steve moved out of his home garage to a commercial location on Grand Avenue. Six full time employees were now on staff and business was good, so good in fact that it would be just five years before he had to move into an even larger facility.
1992
The move to the larger facility for Roberts Roofing occurred in 1992. The facility, now located on 8th Street in Saint Joseph, housed a state of the art guttering machine and employed a sheet metal staff. This was another banner year for Roberts Roofing and the company continued to experience positive growth.
Residential roofing continued to be a large part of the business, and Steve now offered roofing services for Commercial, Residential, Educational, Retail, Churches, Government and Industrial customers.
1998 – Today
Steve’s final move to the current location at 1601 Buchanan Avenue occurred in 1998. By now Roberts Roofing had grown from 2 employees to 60. Roberts became a member of the prestigious National Roofing Contractors and Midwest Roofing Contractors Associations, and also became a certified Master Elite Roofing Contractor which placed them among the top 2% of all U.S. contractors.
Roberts Roofing is known for its skilled craftsmen and their attention to detail. Their professional roofers, estimators, and project managers have completed thousands of hours of training from some of the largest manufacturers of roofing products in the country.
